The design pictured at right is for a 6,000 square foot practice gym. It provides for a slightly shorter than standard length, but standard width, basketball court. A standard high school court measures 50' x 84' while a junior high court measures a little smaller. Church gymnasiums are not usually full length. Even smaller scale gyms can be used for other sports functions in addition to basketball. The height in the middle of the dome works well for volleyball.
A school district can have just the shell built and finish it themselves with their own resources or forces. Or they can choose to use other construction management options to complete the project.
