Bruco,
The Italian Caterpillar Bruco -- the Italian name for caterpillar -- is the Airform manufacturing plant of Monolithic Constructors, Inc. It was built using a single Airform that was shaped as seven interconnected domes. When the Airform was inflated, this shape was automatically achieved. Before Bruco, we worked in a building we called "the metal tent." It would get terribly hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. Now we work in an air-conditioned environment that is comfortable year round. Heating and cooling costs are very affordable even during the hot, Texas summers. It is a clean building because there are no beams or ledges to collect dust. This is ideal for meat packing plants and other "clean" manufacturing facilities. The Monolithic Dome is airtight and would be ideal for the semi-conductor industry. One huge advantage of the Monolithic Dome is it never leaks, unless you cut a hole in it. |
