Going Up: Four Domes for Northview Christian Centerby Freda Parker Tuesday, September 4, 2007 was a big day for Northview Christian Center, a multi-cultural, interdenominational church with a membership of 2000, in Dothan, Alabama. That's the day that South Industries, Inc. of Menan, Idaho began the superstructure construction for the first of four Monolithic Domes. Designed by LPDJ Architects, LLC of Salt Lake City, Utah, each of these Monolithic Domes will include a 14-foot stemwall, constructed using the recently developed castle wall method. Current plans call for the four domes to be built in two phases. Phase I will include the largest of the four: a Monolithic Dome, with a diameter of 190 feet and a height of 41.5 feet, designed as a worship and fellowship hall. A multi-use auxiliary dome, 110 feet by 24 feet, will complete Phase I.
Phase II will include a dome (110' x 24') divided into classrooms and a recreational court/exercise facility (120' x 37.8'). Related Links:
