Rainbow Dome Home Joins Dome TourSeptember 15,2006 by Freda Parker One Dome Home Extends Its Participation in Monolithic's 2006 Dome Tour
Rainbow Dome Home, a ten-dome complex also known as Xanadu of Sedona, will be open for touring during Monolithic's Dome Tour on October 20 and 21 and for two additional days: October 22 and October 23. Owner Bracken Cherry said that he and his family want to provide the local business community of Sedona, Arizona with an opportunity to visit their unique Monolithic Dome home. (For a virtual tour, see www.now.net) "We've participated in the Monolithic Dome Tour several times before, and we always got a really great response," Bracken said. (In 2001 they had 1600 visitors.) "But those tours did not include days during which local business people could come. "Sedona is a small town," Bracken continued. "We have a population of just 15,000, but we get about 4 million tourists each year. Since most local businesses and jobs are tourist related, those folks are very busy on weekends. So this year, we're making Sunday and especially Monday available to them." To announce the Dome Tour, Bracken plans to place an article in Sedona's local newspaper on the Wednesday before the tour. He's also depending on word of mouth. "News about any touring activity spreads very quickly around here," he said. "I think that on Monday, October 23, we will get an impressive number of business owners, managers and their employees -- folks who could not otherwise make it," Bracken concluded. Note: According to Bracken, there will be no touring charge, but they may have a donation box available for voluntary contributions to help differ clean-up expenses.
