What’s it like to build a Monolithic Dome home in Florida, a state that is regularly ravaged by fierce hurricanes? Despite the fact that Monolithic Domes are strong enough to withstand a Category 5 Hurricane, Cliff and Patsy Monk found out that it takes lots of patience and persistence to convince lenders, insurers and even neighbors that dome homes offer the best housing available in coastal areas.
