City & Shore Magazine Loves Safe Harbor Dome

June 14, 2006

by Carol Lanham

builder news City & Shore is an upscale bimonthly lifestyle magazine that focuses on the “good life in South Florida.” Since one of the best things in life is feeling safe and secure in times of peril, the June/July issue of the magazine focuses on hurricane-resistant home designs that not only endure nature’s onslaught, but do so “beautifully.” Safe Harbor Dome, a Monolithic Dome home in Stuart, Florida, is one of the subjects of the article written by Elizabeth Rahe. The feature points out that the home has weathered six named storms with no ill effects. “A dome is a like a rock in a stream. The wind whips around it,” says Deborah Razete-Elkins, who owns the home along with her husband Bill Elkins. Click here to read more about Safe Harbor and its track record during recent storms.
