The Tuttle'sDome Home Makes Headlines in Amarillo

April 3, 2008
by Carol Lanham

A storm shelter above the ground. That’s how the Tuttles describe their three-bedroom dome home in Shamrock, Texas in an article in the Amarillo Globe-News. Don Tuttle first learned about Monolithic Domes in the 1960s when he saw an ad in Popular Mechanics magazine. But he and his wife Shirley did not build one of their own until 1998. The Texas couple likes it so much that they would gladly build another dome home given the opportunity.
