New Oroville, a Futuristic Community of EcoShells, Takes Shape in India
The last time we reported on New Oroville, the community of EcoShells built by Catalytic Software, the homes were still under construction and the gardens, swimming pools and parks were just a vision of the future. But this high-tech city has come a long way since then. A brochure on Catalytic’s web site showcases the innovative project located on a 50-acre campus in Hyderabad, India. The brochure says that the “cool-looking domes” have helped the company “attract and retain top Indian developer talent.” It describes the three-story, 2,250-foot domes as “superb, modern accommodations that combine quality and affordability with an impressive attention to detail.” Best of all, the brochure gives credit to our own Monolithic Dome Institute, which developed the technology for constructing the buildings, pointing out that their “seamless design and reinforced concrete shell make the buildings disaster proof against earthquakes, hurricanes and fire.” Click here to see the full brochure.
