From Near and Far, From Here to There, Domebuilders Come From EverywhereThe April Workshop brought attendees from as near as Waxahachie, Texas - just 15 minutes from Italy - and as far away as New York. Attendees participated in the construction of a 20-foot dome at Morgan Meadows, a dome-rental subdivision under construction just outside Italy, Texas."Domes have been in my blood for a couple years," said Jeff Boutwell, April workshop attendee and owner of Manna Construction in Waxahachie, Texas. Boutwell stopped by Monolithic headquarters on April 9, 2002 to find out what needed to be done in order to build a Monolithic Dome for a customer who wants him to build an Io-24. Within a few minutes David South convinced Jeff to attend the workshop which began that morning. "Overall, I was extremely pleased with the training," said Jeff. Larry Leitgib from Long Island, New York has wanted to attend a Monolithic Dome Workshop for quite some time. Each week for the past six months he was promised that the sale (of his home in New York) will happen "next week." Finally, he just threw up his hands and said, "I am going to the workshop anyway." He showed up on Tuesday morning after driving the entire distance. Eventually, he plans on relocating to Georgia where he hopes to invest into one or more Monolithic Dome homes. The hands-on experience and classroom instruction are so valuable for anyone wanting to increase their knowledge and skills in dome building. Space is still available in all 2002 Workshops. Register online or call Monolithic for more information.
