New Oroville - A High-tech City in India
So how do you start a new city? Well, according to Catalytic Software's CEO Swain Porter, "one dome at a time."Monolithic first reported on Swain Porter and Eric Engrstom, founders of Catalytic Software in the Roundup Journal, Fall 2000. Swain and Eric have an understanding and vision of how Monolithic Domes and EcoShells can transform a small part of India.
This year they are witnessing the beginning stages of that vision. The first five EcoShells of the eventual 4,000 domes for New Oroville are complete. New Oroville will serve as a training field and housing center for thousands of young software engineers.
In their high-tech society, every employee will live in a one-, two-, or three-story dome home which has the ability to withstand earthquakes and other natural disasters and equipped with lightning speed Internet access.
New Oroville will eventually provide all the extras American suburban life offers such as, parks, gardens, swimming pools, clean water, and more.
