Paul Harvey Talks About Monolithic Domes
by Freda Parker

In his national radio broadcast of February 3, 2000, Paul Harvey asked, "What's new?"

The internationally acclaimed commentator then answered: "The most unique home construction since Bucky Fuller's Geodesic Dome.

"This one's called the Monolithic Dome. For a school building it would cost less to construct, less to operate, and the maker promises it defies tornadoes and earthquakes and hurricanes and fires and termites.

"Test buildings have been built north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Equator.

"They can be any size from 8 feet to 260 feet. The Monolithic Dome -- a one-piece building -- Airform, polyurethane foam insulated, steel reinforced, sprayed with concrete.

"Are we ready yet for Buckminster Fuller?"

Harvey concluded with information about the Monolithic Dome Conference, which, he said, "...may answer our question."
