Annual Monolithic Dome Tour A Huge Success! by Kris Garrison Monday morning, Oct 22, 2001, two days after the First Annual Monolithic Dome Home Tour, phones rang and e-mails poured in from participants. Most reported a successful first-time endeavor. The Monolithic Dome Institute opened its doors to approximately 300 visitors on Saturday - some from as far away as Seattle, Washington.
This is just a preliminary report. If you were a tour participant you can expect a follow-up call very soon! As more success stories become available, we will share them with our readers. Anne DeMoss, Tour Coordinator said, "Our main goal was to educate others about Monolithic Domes and we definitely accomplished that in most of the tour's locations. Anytime you do something the first time, you learn what to do again and what not to do. We have learned so much from this experience. We did some things right, but some need re-evaluation. We will definitely be doing this again next year!" Special thanks to all dome owners for opening their homes to the public. We obviously couldn't call this a success without your kindness and cooperation. Also, our thanks to Carol Lanham, Monolithic's publicist, Anne DeMoss and the MBDA for all their hard work and dedication in making this new endeavor a huge success. We appreciate the feedback we have already received and look forward to getting all your ideas and suggestions for next year's tour. Please send them to anne@monolithic.com. Related Links: |
